This is the most serious competitor to moussaka along with Italian lasagna. It is a casserole made of smoked sausage, hard-boiled eggs and of course potatoes and all topped with sour cream.

My grandmother had this often prepared, especially in winter time. While ringing at the door returning from school , before I would open the door, I could smell this simple and delicious dish.

It can be prepared in the morning and baked later in the evening.

Casserole made of smoked sausage, hard-boiled eggs and of course potatoes and all topped with sour cream. Simple and delicious.

Serves: 2
Ingredients
  • 6 large potatoes
  • 4 eggs
  • around 350 grams (12 oz) smoked sausage, like spanish brand chorizo sausages (I used homemade semidried smoked sausages - nothing can beat that)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Scrub the potatoes clean. Transfer the potatoes to a saucepan and cover with cold water: Cover the potatoes with an inch or two of cold water. Starting the potatoes in cold water helps them cook more evenly. Set the pan over medium-high heat and bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a bare simmer to cook the potatoes. Do not cover. Potatoes are done when tender, after about 20 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked clean it from the shell while still hot and run them under cold water to cool them down. Cut the potatoes into slices.
  3. Hard boil 4 eggs, clean them from a shell and also cut them into thin slices.
  4. Cut the sausages into thin slices.
  5. At the bottom of the baking dish put the oil, chopped onion and start layering: 1 layer of potatoes, 1 layer of eggs and 1 layer of sausages, and each layer of potatoes season with a little salt and pepper. Layer ingredients until they are used up, finished with potatoes.
  6. Beat the egg and mix in sour cream.
  7. Pour egg and cream mixture over potatoes and put the dish in the oven, and bake until golden brown around 20-30 minutes.

🇭🇷 Dva čokoladna keksića spojena u sendvič s kremastim nadjevom - ima li što bolje?? Ovi tanki, lagani i hrskavi čokoladni sendvič keksići punjeni su kremom od brusnica i nutellom. Ali možete koristiti bilo što od nadjeva ili ga jesti jednostavno bez ičega - u svakom slučaju stvarno su dobri i teško im je odoljeti već nakon prvog ugriza! 🇭🇷 Samo podsjetnik na ove fantastične Kekse od smeđeg maslaca, toffee i čokoladnih komadića. I was instantly intrigued, because I love the combination of mint and chocolate. That cookie was absolutely unplanned but I'm so happy I decided to make them, because  these are so delicious. 🇭🇷 Keksići od mente i čokoladnih komadića s menta šećerom. Bila sam inspirirana naslovnicom blagdanskog izdanja @bonappetitmag. Bila sam zaintrigirana jer volim kombinaciju mente i čokolade i ti keksi su bili apsolutno neplanirani, ali mi je jako drago da sam ih napravila jer su preukusni. Pišem recepte ko' luda na blog svaku noć do 1,2 ujuto, pa vas molim za strpljenje, puno vas traži recepte, a jednostavno ne stignem svima udovoljiti uz malo dijete s kojim sam većinom sama doma. Recept za jako tražene Raspucance od oraha i ruma će sutra biti na blogu, ako nešto ne iskrsne 😉!
