Butter, garlic, and mushrooms – the perfect combination. The best part is it is so easy and quick to make. You only need 30 minutes – well, we all need easy and delicious dinner recipes.
I am not a great fan of mushrooms. Only mushrooms I eat are button mushrooms, and only in some kind of a sauce or on a pizza. But when you toss these mushrooms with garlic and butter, then we’re talking about serious comfort food.
Mushroom pasta is one of the easiest pasta dishes to make when you don’t want meat for dinner. Butter, garlic, and mushrooms are those ingredients that match perfectly – definitely a winning combination.
Creamy Garlic Mushroom Pasta
This mushroom sauce is creamy, buttery, and crazy delicious.
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 shallots chopped (you can use 1 medium-size onion)
- 250 grams 8.8 oz fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 250 milliliter warm milk (1 cup; 8.45 fl oz)
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley leaves chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 250 grams spaghetti or any other pasta, cooked according to package directions
- freshly grated Parmesan cheese to serve.
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter, add shallots (or onion) and cook until mushrooms are browned, for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add 2 tablespoons of flour, cook for few minutes until browned.
- Pour warm milk, stir to get rid of any lumps.
- Add dried thyme and fresh parsley, cook for few minutes until sauce thickens a bit.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and stir.
- Top with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
