Creamy Garlic Mushroom Pasta

This mushroom sauce is creamy, buttery and crazy delicious.

Serves: 2-4
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 shallots (you can use 1 medium size onion), chopped
  • 250 grams (8.8 oz) fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 250 mililiter (1 cup; 8.45 fl oz) warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley leaves, chooped
  • salt an pepper, to taste
  • 250 grams spaghetti, or any other pasta, cooked according to package directions
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese, to serve.
  1. Heat 2 tablespoond of butter, add shallots (or onion) and cook until mushrooms are browned, for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of flour, cook for few minutes until browned.
  4. Pour warm milk, stir to get rid of any lumps.
  5. Add dried thyme and fresh parsley, cook for few minutes until sauce thickens a bit.
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and stir.
  7. Top with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
