Apple Dumplings
Crescent dough (in my case croissant dough), Granny Smith apple, butter, brown sugar, a dash of cinnamon, and lemon-lime soda - the easiest apple dumplings ever. Soooooo good! Just don't forget the vanilla ice cream!

- 2 Granny Smith apples peeled, cored and sliced into 8 wedges
- 2 cans crescent rolls or 2 packages of croissant dough cut into 8 triangles
- 230 grams butter (2 sticks)
- 250 grams brown sugar (1 1/4 cup; 8.8 oz)
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon + more for sprinkling
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 360 lemon soda (1 1/2cup) such as Sprite or Mountain Dew
Preheat oven to 175 °C (350 °F).
Peel, core, and slice apples. Butter a baking pan 9x13 (23x33cm), and roll each slice of apple in the crescent roll (croissant roll) and place them in prepared baking dish.
Melt butter over medium-low heat, add sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Remove from heat and pour over dumplings.
Pour lemon soda in the middle and along the edges of a pan BUT not over dumplings.
Sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on every dumpling.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until they become golden brown.
Serve warm, alone or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
