Creamy Garlic Mushroom Pasta

This mushroom sauce is creamy, buttery, and crazy delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 shallots chopped (you can use 1 medium-size onion)
  • 250 grams 8.8 oz fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 250 milliliter warm milk (1 cup; 8.45 fl oz)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley leaves chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 250 grams spaghetti or any other pasta, cooked according to package directions
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese to serve.

Instructions

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of butter, add shallots (or onion) and cook until mushrooms are browned, for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of flour, cook for few minutes until browned.
  • Pour warm milk, stir to get rid of any lumps.
  • Add dried thyme and fresh parsley, cook for few minutes until sauce thickens a bit.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and stir.
  • Top with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
